(The first character is pronounced with the fanqie \*q-\*, \[qi\], from 情 and 奚. The character books say: 'That which is in the exact center of the belly is called the navel (臍).' The \*Shuowen\* states: 'The navel cavity; it takes 肉 \[flesh\] as semantic and 齊 as phonetic.' It is also written as 齊, which is acceptable; sūtra texts simply write 齊, borrowing the ancient character. The second character is pronounced with the fanqie \*l-\*, \[lun\], from 力 and 迍. The \*Zhouli\* states: 'The squareness of the carriage frame models the Earth; the canopy models Heaven; the roundness of the wheel models the sun and moon.' A wheel has thirty spokes. It takes 車 \[cart\] as semantic and 侖 as phonetic.)
