> Bhagavat (薄誐鑁) (the first character sounds bang + ge fan \[bó\]; the second is wang + fan fan \[fàn\]; a Sanskrit word. Formerly called bogafan \[薄伽梵\] or baojiapan \[婆加伴\], translated in ancient times as the World-Honoured One. Now it is said that because it possesses six meanings, it is comprehensively called bhagavat, referring to the six: sovereign, flourishing, dignified, famed, auspicious, and venerable).
