(Returning swiftly: for the first character, fanqie 式竹 \[shù\], the Qieyun says: '倏忽 means sudden.' The Shuowen says: 'Swift; formed from 犬 and 攸, meaning a dog running swiftly.' The vinaya text writes 儵; the Erya says: '儵儵嘒嘒 means fleeing from disaster and poison'; it also refers to black-and-blue patterned silk, and does not have the meaning of swiftness. For the second character, fanqie 舉韋 \[guī\], the Qieyun says: 'To return; to approach; also peaceful and quiet.')
