> \[Pramiti\] In Tang it is called Jiliang ('Ultimate Measure'). A person from Central India. Cherishing the Way and surveying the lands, delivering beings according to conditions, he traveled widely converting others and reached our China. Thereupon, at the Zhizhi Daochang in Guangzhou, he translated the Śūraṅgama-sūtra. From the Han to the Tang, there were altogether two hundred and ninety-two translators, both Confucian scholars and Buddhists, who are now briefly compiled here. If one wishes to know fully about the individuals currently associated with the scriptures, one should consult the new and old Yijing tuxiang ji.
