> \*Puruṣadamyasārathi\*: the Qin called it 'Tamer and Guide of Transformable Heroes' (可化丈夫調御師). The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa says: 'Because the Buddha has great compassion and great wisdom, he sometimes uses soft and gentle words, sometimes bitter and sharp words, and sometimes mixed words, so that beings do not stray from the Path. If one were to say the Buddha is a tamer of women, it would not be respectful; if one says heroes, all beings are subsumed.'
