> 【Batuopoluo】(Bhadrapāla) The Da zhidu lun translates it as Shanshou (Good Guardian). The Siyi says: "If sentient beings hear his name, they will ultimately attain sambodhi; hence he is called Good Guardian." Master Gushan says: "Xianshou (Worthy Guardian): he protects his own worthy virtues, and moreover protects sentient beings. Or called Xianshou (Head of Worthies), because his stage resides at equal enlightenment, making him the head of the multitude of worthies. He is also named Batuohe, translated here as Xianhu (Worthy Protector)." Miaole says: "'Good' (shan) means 'worthy' (xian); a householder bodhisattva of the royal city (Rājagṛha)."
