【底栗車】此云畜生。畜（褚六切），即六畜也。《禮記注》云：「牛、馬、羊、犬、豕、鷄。」《輔行》云：「攝趣不盡。」以五道中皆遍有故。又翻畜（許六）生。《婆沙》云：「畜謂畜養。」謂彼橫生，稟性愚癡，不能自立，為他畜養，故名畜生。

> \[Tiryak\] Translated here as animal (\*xusheng\*). \*Xu\* (pronounced \*chu-liu\*) refers to the six domestic animals. The \*Liji zhu\* says: "Ox, horse, sheep, dog, pig, fowl." The \*Fuxing\* says: "This does not exhaustively encompass the destiny," because they pervade all five destinies. It is also translated with \*xu\* (pronounced \*xu-liu\*). The \*Vibhāṣā\* says: "\*Xu\* means to rear (\*xuyang\*)." This means that these laterally moving creatures, endowed with a foolish nature, cannot sustain themselves and are reared by others; hence they are named \*xusheng\* ("reared beings").
