【阿施】秦言義。《大品》施字，經本作施字門，入諸法施字不可得故。論曰：「若聞他字，即知一切法義不可得。」《華嚴》唱曷攞多（上聲）字，名生死境界智慧輪。疏云：「即執著義性，執著為生死境，義即智慧輪。」

> \[Artha\] In Qin it means "meaning" (artha). As for the śi-syllable of the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-prajñāpāramitā Sūtra, the sūtra edition originally has the śi-syllable gate, because one enters into the ungraspability of the śi-syllable of all phenomena. The Śāstra says: "If one hears the tha-syllable, one immediately knows that the meaning of all phenomena is ungraspable." In the Avataṃsaka Sūtra, when intoning the syllable hṛda (rising tone), it is called the wheel of wisdom of the realm of birth and death. The Commentary says: "Namely, the nature of attachment to meaning: attachment is the realm of birth and death, and meaning is the wheel of wisdom."
