> 【Kuṇḍikā】 Here translated as vase. The \*Nanhai jigui zhuan\* says: "There are two kinds of \*kuṇḍikā\*: porcelain or earthenware ones are for clean use; copper or iron ones are for unclean use." The \*Xiyu ji\* says: "\*Kuṇḍikā\* is a water vase for washing. The old term \*junchi\* (軍持) was an erroneous abbreviation. In the Western Regions, nuns keep a \*kuṇḍikā\*, while monks keep a washing vase, meaning a double-spouted washing vase." The \*Shishi chao\* says: "A canonical washing vase." The \*Zichi\* says: "Meaning one tou or less."
