> In the binyin year, on the twenty-third day of the fourth month in the summer, the Heir Apparent of the King of Hexi, General Pacifying the Army, and Manager of the Affairs of the Masters of Writing, the Grand Jiqu Xingguo, together with more than five hundred upāsakas, in the capital city, jointly requested the Tianzhu Dharma Master Dharmakṣema to translate this precept for householder bodhisattvas; it was completely finished by the twenty-third day of the seventh month in the autumn. The Qin śramaṇa Daoyang served as the scribal recorder. May this merit cause the state's fortune to be boundless, and in future lives may we encounter Maitreya, awaken upon first hearing \[the Dharma\], and attain the forbearance of non-arising. May all sentient beings in the ten directions share in this vow.
