He resided at Yunmen Monastery and took reciting the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka-sūtra and practicing repentance as his vocation. Every morning, his water pitcher was naturally filled; in truth, celestial youths were serving as his attendants. Furthermore, a tiger entered his chamber and lay down before his bed, only departing after a long time. Moreover, he saw a child come to listen to the sūtra, who said: 'In the past, I was a novice monk in this monastery. I stole food from the monks' kitchen and have now fallen into the latrine.
