His character was upright and straightforward, his intelligence surpassing the ordinary. Although he was thoroughly versed in the Tripiṭaka, he was particularly proficient in the Vibhāṣā-śāstra, constantly reciting this work and taking it as his spiritual essential. In the fifth year of the Yonghe era of the Northern Liang, the year yi-hai, he translated for Juqu Ziqian, prince of Hexi: the Vibhāṣā-śāstra, one work (one hundred fascicles), with Daotai as scribe.
