The Tathāgata speaks it for those who resolve upon the Great Vehicle; he speaks it for those who resolve upon the Supreme Vehicle. If there are persons who can accept, uphold, read, recite, and broadly explain it for others, the Tathāgata completely knows these persons, completely sees these persons; they will all achieve incalculable, inestimable, boundless, inconceivable merit. Such persons are ones who bear the Tathāgata's anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi. Why is this? Subhūti, if one delights in lesser teachings and is attached to the view of a self, the view of a person, the view of a sentient being, or the view of a soul, then one cannot listen to, accept, read, recite, or explain this sūtra for others. Subhūti, wherever this sūtra is located, all the worlds of devas, humans, and asuras should make offerings to it.
