"Non-sentient beings" is because their substance is not ordinary persons; "not non-sentient beings" is because they possess noble nature. Those persons are not ordinary sentient beings, nor are they not sentient beings of noble substance. This treatise explains it in terms of the ultimate and conventional truths, while that commentary explains it based on ordinary and noble \[beings\]. Because bodhisattvas on the \[ten\] grounds are able to have deep faith, the targeted meaning differs.
