> First is real wisdom, namely bodhi; second is the Hīnayāna; third is the Mahāyāna; fourth is prophesy. These four objects in sequence are all not spoken falsely, matching the four statements. Outside of these, there are hypothetical expressions: in the Hīnayāna and so on, he teaches the truth of suffering and so forth; in the Mahāyāna, he teaches the selflessness of dharmas; as for prophesy, it refers to speaking of the events of the three times, which are definitely without error. Because he speaks according to their meaning and without inversion, now he speaks of bodhi and the Mahāyāna to encourage faith in the Buddha's words.
