> Sūtra: "Because in reality there is no dharma \[…\] named Śākyamuni."
> Exposition: Direct establishment. Here there are two meanings: first, because in reality there is no clinging mind, the practice conforms to principle, and hence the prophecy is received; second, because in reality there is no superior practice and no real bodhi that can be realized and attained, he only received a prophecy for the distant future. The words "Śākyamuni" are translated here as "Capable of Silence" (nengji). Other versions have "Tathāgata"; this text lacks it. Furthermore, other versions address him as "Māṇava", translated here as "Confucian youth" (rutong); the Liang version says "Brāhmaṇa", translated here as "pure conduct" (jingxing), which addresses him on the basis of caste.
