- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.84](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.2735.1.84)

> Sūtra: Subhūti \[said,\] "Very much, World-Honoured One."
>
> Commentary: Next, the answer has three parts: first stating, next questioning, and later explaining. This is the first. Other texts also have "Very much, Sugata." The treatise's explanation reveals collecting the mind and maintaining the mind; that is, within the merit of the sūtra, there are two practices: first, receiving and retaining; second, clearly expounding. Now, causing oneself and others to collect the mind and maintain the mind so that it does not scatter outward accomplishes a supreme accumulation of merit; therefore, two marks are raised here in advance.
