Exposition: Fourth, the completion of the converting person. The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa, fascicle two, gives five kinds of speakers: first, the Buddha; second, noble disciples; third, devas; fourth, ṛṣis; fifth, transformed beings. Here, clarifying that it is spoken by the Buddha demonstrates that it is worthy of veneration and faith. The Wei translation calls him the Bhagavat (婆伽婆); the Liang translation says 'Buddha-Bhagavat' (佛婆伽); the Sui says 'World-Honoured One'; the Zhenguan translation calls him the Bhagavat (薄伽梵); the Zhou says 'Buddha-Bhagavat' (佛薄伽梵).
