> Sūtra: ...he stored away his robe and bowl,
> Commentary: \[…\] quiescence; the second is inwardly calming and entering samādhi, using ultimate transformation to quiet the mind's wisdom. The text is divided into three: 1. gathering up requisites; 2. purifying bodily karma; 3. entering quiescent concentration. This is the first. About to enter samādhi, one must cease external grasping; if robe and bowl are not stored away, it will certainly increase toil and worry. To provide a model for posterity, he must store them away. That is, folding the saṃghāṭī and putting the uttarāsaṅga back on. The Sui version says: "The bowl and robe were stored away." The Account of the Immortals says: "Having washed them, he placed them in their customary spot."
