> As for ordering Ānanda: at that time, common opinion held that the one of extensive learning could inquire about illness, and hence he was ordered \[to do so\]. That person's shortcoming lay in not penetrating the way of responsive manifestation, supposing that the ultimate truth could have illness. In this section, there are three parts in all that explain that the dharmakāya has no illness. From 'Stop, stop' down to 'could hear these words': cutting off all evils completely and possessing all the myriad goods fully, how could it have illness? Before this 'Stop', there are two intentions: previously it was said that the body was slightly ill and should use cow's milk; now, he again stops it with two 'stops'. 'Ashamed of the past': ashamed of the past words that the Tathāgata had an illness. From 'wheel-turning \[king\]' downward: the second part uses the lower to illustrate the higher, explaining that the Tathāgata's dharmakāya has no illness. 'Go, Ānanda': quickly go and depart. From 'You should know' downward: above, it explained cutting off evil and perfecting goodness, explaining that the dharmakāya has no illness; from here down, it explains that the Tathāgata does not fall into numerical categories of dharmas, explaining the absence of illness. 'Go, Ānanda': go and fetch the milk.
