> “Having been taught to repent, yearning thirstily to see \[the Buddha\], he joins his palms, kneels with his right knee on the ground toward Gṛdhrakūṭa Mountain, and says: ‘The Tathāgata, the Hero of the World, is constantly present in the world; out of pity for me, manifest your body for me.’ Having spoken these words, he sees Gṛdhrakūṭa Mountain adorned with the seven jewels, with countless monks and a great assembly of śrāvakas, jeweled trees in rows, the jeweled ground flat and even, and further laid out with marvelous jeweled lion thrones. Śākyamuni Buddha emits light from between his eyebrows; the light completely illuminates the worlds of the ten directions, and extends beyond immeasurable worlds of the ten directions.
