> From here below is the third part, manifesting the pre-eminence of their virtues, hence called 'lofty and far-reaching'. Therein, it first brings up their lofty and far-reaching reputation. Manifesting the pre-eminence of their virtues, their renown penetrates upward; this is called 'lofty and far-reaching'. How is it that they 'surpass Meru'? 'Surpass' (yu) means to exceed. 'Xumi' is a foreign word; here it is called 'Mount of Fine Height' and also called 'Mount of Peaceful Brightness'. It rises to a height of 3,360,000 li, and its length and breadth are also the same. It is formed of the four jewels, and has sixty thousand mountains as its retinue.
