> "'Wishing to travel the great highway, do not show them a narrow trail. Do not put the great ocean into the footprint of an ox. Do not equate the light of the sun with that firefly!'" The fourth is presenting analogies in general. Sengzhao says: A great thing should be placed in a great place; why turn a dragon-elephant into a rabbit track, or pour the great ocean into an ox's footprint? As for the light of the sun, Sengzhao says: The distinction between brightness and dimness is like this analogy; why would one wish to equate them? Some say: The great highway is the Dharma-nature, analogising the dharmakāya. The great ocean receiving vastly analogises prajñā. The light of the sun destroying darkness analogises liberation.
