> The Buddha told Aniruddha, "Go to Vimalakīrti to inquire about his illness." Sengzhao says: "Aniruddha means 'Ruyi' (In Accordance with Will) in the language of Qin. He was of the kṣatriya caste. Among the disciples he was foremost in the divine eye. He is also called 'Non-destruction' (Wumie). Because a single lamp illumined the Buddha, for ninety kalpas his wholesome roots have not been destroyed. Now he has attained the foremost divine eye. Furthermore, because he always enjoyed retribution according to his will, he was born into the kṣatriya caste, up to his attainment of the Way."
