> "If Maitreya receives a prophecy, all sentient beings should also receive a prophecy. Why? Because suchness is non-dual and not different." Below, second, specifically refuting in terms of the equality of the three virtues. Here, first, refuting in terms of the virtue of the dharmakāya, the equality of the principle of true suchness. For Maitreya and sentient beings, the principle of suchness is non-dual; when converging with suchness to receive a prophecy, how could there be the duality of obtaining and not obtaining? Sengzhao says: "Ordinary people and sages are one suchness; how could there be the difference of gain and loss?" Daosheng says: "'Dual' refers simply to two things; 'different' refers to the two characteristics being distinct."
