> He asked again: "What is the root of wholesome and unwholesome?" These are the fourth \[series of\] six exchanges of question and answer, exhausting the primal delusion of the source of afflictions, realizing that delusion is itself empty of self-nature. This is not like the two vehicles cutting off delusion to witness emptiness. Delusion sequentially matches the afflictions of the five entrenchments; the principle is also like this. Following the text is also good for this question. Sengzhao says: "Having understood that the good can arise and the bad can be eliminated, intending to relinquish both to seek the fundamental, he traces back to their root." \[Dao\]sheng says: "The good and the bad alternate as each other's roots without ever being controlled. One must seek their great origin and contemplate it, and only then will they be controlled."
