"With great vigor they subdue the armies of Māra; constantly seeking the practice of wisdom that is thoughtless and of the true mark, having few desires and being content, yet not abandoning worldly phenomena." Vigor subdues Māra; thoughtlessness verifies the real; having few desires yet not abandoning the world—these are the practices of a mahāsattva. Zhao says: "True wisdom is devoid of conditioning factors, hence it is without thought. As for 'not abandoning the world,' Zhao says: harmonious yet thoughtless, desiring \[salvation\] yet abandoning the world, \[they are\] naturally unique."
