> \[The sūtra says:\] "'On this day, all the holy assembly—whether sitting in meditation among the mountains or having attained the four fruits of the path,'" / The commentary says: Fourth, praising the field. It praises the three virtues in full; this is the virtue of absorption. "On this day" brings up the auspicious morning for eradicating sins. "All the holy assembly" indicates the clarity of those who have realized the principle. Excellent masters: "whether sitting in meditation among the mountains," abiding in crags and thickets to train the mind; "or having attained the four fruits of the path," overcoming all internals to attain extinction. This is the virtue of absorption.
