> Text for Receiving the Saṃghāṭī: "Bhadanta, focus your mind! I, Bhikṣu So-and-so: this robe is a saṃghāṭī of fifteen strips; I receive and maintain it as a cut robe of three long and one short \[units\]." (Spoken three times.) The other replies: "It is permissible." (The rest are all analogous to this. Only according to the classification of the teachings, the great robe has three ranks and nine grades: from nine strips to thirteen strips, all are called 'two long and one short'; fifteen, seventeen, and nineteen are all called 'three long and one short'; twenty-one, twenty-three, and twenty-five are all called 'four long and one short'. At the time of performing the rite, name it accordingly as should be known.)
