> Regarding "Because of the distinctions among the four affairs of arising, abiding, establishing, and obtaining": for conditioned dharmas, existing when previously not existing is called arising (jāti). Sentient beings relying on the receptacle world, and the receptacle world relying on the wind mandala, etc., is called abiding (sthiti). Establishing a principle through thesis, reason, and example is called establishing (siddhi). If it can establish the conditioned or unconditioned, it is called obtaining (prāpti). If conditioned dharmas have superior power and function that cause arising, abiding, and so forth, it is called concordant; causing non-arising and so forth is called contrary.
