In this there are three parts: first a general introduction, next an enumeration of names, and finally an analysis of the aspects. This is the first. Previously, they were explained separately to make known delusion and awakening, and their differences in ascending and falling, so as to arouse aspiration and aversion. Now, it intends to make known that delusion and awakening are identical in tathatā, without two fixed substances, while in karmic illusion and distinction, they are by no means fixedly one. Therefore, they are spoken of together.
