Severing the activity, transformation, and manifestation \[phases\] within the defiled mind causes the awakening that accords with defilement to return to the source, becoming the pure and genuine cognition of the nirmāṇakāya; hence it says, "extinguishes the phase of the continuous mind, because the cognition is pure and genuine."
