In the text there are two sections: first, revealing the completeness of perfuming. "Having in themselves the power of perfuming" means afflictions and karma are slight and thin, and internal perfuming is powerful. "Also being protected by the compassionate vows of the Buddhas..." and so forth means eliminating their external conditions, perfumed by compassionate vows. From "can generate..." below: next, revealing the benefits of perfuming. Generating the mind that feels disgust toward suffering and cultivating roots of goodness is one's own basic practice. "Because of cultivating roots of goodness to maturity..." and so forth is the practice of superior advancement: showing people how to gladly listen to the teachings of the three vehicles and six perfections; causing them to abandon evil and follow good practices; explaining for them the future benefits, so that their practicing mind becomes keen; praising their practice, thereby making their mind rejoice.
