> Treatise: "Second, the non-interrupted \[…\] because of leaving it ultimately behind." / Commentary: That is, among the five intents, it is called the continuous consciousness; among the earlier six defilements, it is called the characteristic of continuity. The continuity of grasping at dharmas is called non-interrupted; being able to defile the pure mind, it is called the non-interrupted defilement. Bodhisattvas of the three grades of worthies study and practice consciousness-only, investigation, and actual cognition, and through various contemplations gradually suppress such discriminative grasping at dharmas. Entering the bhūmis, they realize the three non-natures: since the manifestations and seeds of discriminative grasping at dharmas are both destroyed, it is said that "attaining the ground of pure mind, they leave it ultimately behind." Newly attaining uncontaminated mind for the first time is called pure mind, not the pure mind of subsequent bhūmis.
