By the power of the merit of such causal conditions of paying homage to the buddhas, they immediately were able to transcend the sins of saṃsāra of countless kotis of kalpas. The first thousand people, with Padmaprabhabuddha at their head down to Viśvabhūbuddha, succeeded in becoming buddhas in the Vyūhakalpa; these are the thousand buddhas of the past. The middle thousand people, with Krakucchandabuddha at their head down to Rocidharmaketurājabuddha, successively became buddhas in the Bhadrakalpa.
