"To explain briefly, this maitrī samādhi has three kinds of conditions: conditioned by sentient beings, conditioned by dharmas, and unconditioned. For those who have not yet attained the Path, it is called 'conditioned by sentient beings'. For arhats and pratyekabuddhas, it is called 'conditioned by dharmas'. For the Buddhas, the World-Honoured Ones, it is called 'unconditioned'. Therefore the approach of maitrī samādhi is briefly explained."
