- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [7.35](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.643.7.35)

> 'Equanimity means: all sentient beings are devoid of the mark of sentient beings. When performing this contemplation, first contemplate one's own body: Is the earth element a sentient being? Are the water, fire, and wind elements sentient beings? Is form a sentient being? Are feeling, perception, karmic formations, and consciousness sentient beings? Is emptiness a sentient being? Is non-emptiness a sentient being? Is suchness a sentient being? Is non-suchness a sentient being? Is the limit of reality a sentient being? Is non-reality a sentient being? Is the emptiness of the conditioned a sentient being? Is the emptiness of the unconditioned a sentient being? When analyzing and differentiating in this way, one does not see sentient beings, one does not apprehend sentient beings, and one has no concept of sentient beings. The mind is unattached and has no seeking. Understanding such pure dharmas is called practicing equanimity.'
