Why am I now not reborn in the nineteenth heaven with a lifespan of sixteen kalpas?" Having spoken thus, he then said: "The Buddha was merely speaking with a double tongue." Instantly falling from heaven into hell, without realizing the loss of his heavenly lifespan, he suffered punishment in hell. It is just like a person in the world who obtains rare treasures, and one day a fire breaks out and burns them all up; when a person gives rise to evil thoughts, they wrongfully burn up good thoughts.
