- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.29](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.742.1.29)

> When the Buddha finished preaching the sūtra, the king and his ministers all attained the stage of stream-enterer (srotāpanna) and received the five precepts to become lay devotees. Among the people of the state, some became śramaṇas while others upheld the precepts as lay devotees. They subsequently governed the state by means of the five precepts and the ten wholesome deeds; all the gods protected them, and the state flourished. The gods, dragons, spirits, king, ministers, and common people were all filled with joy.
