"Kulaputra, if these bodhisattvas awaken to pure perfect enlightenment, with a pure enlightened mind they grasp neither illusory transformations nor any quiet aspects, clearly understanding that body and mind are both hindrances. The knowing, enlightened clarity without ignorance does not depend on any hindrances, forever transcending the realms of hindrance and non-hindrance, experiencing and using the world as well as body and mind, while their aspects abide in the dusty realm. Just as the resonance within a vessel sounds forth outside it, kleśas and nirvāṇa do not retain or obstruct each other. Then they can inwardly generate the pliancy of quiescence, wonderous enlightenment in accordance \[with reality\], and the realm of quiescence, beyond the reach of their own or others' bodies and minds, wherein sentient beings and life-spans are all fleeting thoughts. This upāya is named dhyāna.
