> Furthermore, it is said: 'three lakṣas.' This is a number, that is, three hundred thousand recitations. If the practitioner also obtains vision of the deity's seed syllable, mudrā, and so forth, he then sees the deity from within the deity's seed syllable and mudrā. Having attained this accomplishment, he can then arrange the letters everywhere to constitute his own body; that is, knowing one's own mind as it really is, he accomplishes the body of the All-Illuminating One (Vairocana). This is the meaning of lakṣa. If one does not attain such correspondence, even if one recites fully ten million lakṣas over a hundred years, one still will not attain accomplishment, how much less with three lakṣas?
