“Tiṇṇaṃ kho, māṇava, khandhānaṃ so bhagavā vaṇṇavādī ahosi; ettha ca imaṃ janataṃ samādapesi nivesesi patiṭṭhāpesi.
“Student, the Buddha praised three spectrums of practice, and that’s what he encouraged, settled, and grounded all these people in.

Katamesaṃ tiṇṇaṃ?
What three?

Ariyassa sīlakkhandhassa, ariyassa samādhikkhandhassa, ariyassa paññākkhandhassa.
The spectrums of noble ethics, noble immersion, and noble wisdom.
1.6.4
Imesaṃ kho, māṇava, tiṇṇaṃ khandhānaṃ so bhagavā vaṇṇavādī ahosi; ettha ca imaṃ janataṃ samādapesi nivesesi patiṭṭhāpesī”ti.
These are the three spectrums of practice that the Buddha praised.”

“Katamo pana so, bho ānanda, ariyo sīlakkhandho, yassa so bhavaṃ gotamo vaṇṇavādī ahosi, yattha ca imaṃ janataṃ samādapesi nivesesi patiṭṭhāpesī”ti?
“But what was that spectrum of noble ethics that the Buddha praised?”
