3.9.1
Evaṃ vutte, bhagavā māraṃ pāpimantaṃ etadavoca:
When this was said, the Buddha said to Māra,
3.9.2
“appossukko tvaṃ, pāpima, hohi, na ciraṃ tathāgatassa parinibbānaṃ bhavissati.
“Relax, Wicked One. The full extinguishment of the Realized One will be soon.
3.9.3
Ito tiṇṇaṃ māsānaṃ accayena tathāgato parinibbāyissatī”ti.
Three months from now the Realized One will be fully extinguished.”
