Tatra sudaṃ bhagavā bhoganagare viharati ānande cetiye.

Tatra kho bhagavā bhikkhū āmantesi:
There the Buddha addressed the mendicants:

“cattārome, bhikkhave, mahāpadese desessāmi,
“Mendicants, I will teach you the four great references.
4.7.4
taṃ suṇātha, sādhukaṃ manasikarotha, bhāsissāmī”ti.
Listen and apply your mind well, I will speak.”
4.7.5
“Evaṃ, bhante”ti kho te bhikkhū bhagavato paccassosuṃ.
“Yes, sir,” they replied.
