5.1
‘Taṃ kiṃ maññanti, bhonto devā tāvatiṃsā?
‘What do the good gods of the thirty-three think?
5.2
Yāvañca so bhagavā bahujanahitāya paṭipanno bahujanasukhāya lokānukampāya atthāya hitāya sukhāya devamanussānaṃ.
How the Buddha has acted for the welfare and happiness of the people, out of sympathy for the world, for the benefit, welfare, and happiness of gods and humans!
5.3
Evaṃ bahujanahitāya paṭipannaṃ bahujanasukhāya lokānukampāya atthāya hitāya sukhāya devamanussānaṃ imināpaṅgena samannāgataṃ satthāraṃ neva atītaṃse samanupassāma, na panetarahi, aññatra tena bhagavatā.
I don’t see any Teacher, past or present, who has such sympathy for the world, apart from the Buddha.
