“Disvā phalaṃ duccaritassa rāja,
When he had heard these words, wise Citta discoursed to him in six stanzas:
"Seeing the fruit of evil deeds, O king,
Seeing what profit deeds of goodness bring,
I fain would exercise stern self-control,
Sons, wealth, and cattle cannot charm my soul.
498.11.2
Atho suciṇṇassa mahāvipākaṃ;
When he had heard these words, wise Citta discoursed to him in six stanzas:
"Seeing the fruit of evil deeds, O king,

Attānameva paṭisaṃyamissaṃ,

Na patthaye putta pasuṃ dhanaṃ vā.
