3.6.4.1

Atha kho sabhiyassa paribbājakassa etadahosi:

'What should a man (necessarily) have obtained that people may call him a Bhikkhu?'--so said Sabhiya,--'how may they call him compassionate, and how subdued? how can he be called enlightened (buddha)? Asked (about this) do thou, Bhagavat, explain it to me.' (513)

3.6.4.2

“ayampi kho samaṇo gotamo saṅghī ceva gaṇī ca gaṇācariyo ca ñāto yasassī titthakaro sādhusammato bahujanassa;

yannūnāhaṃ samaṇaṃ gotamaṃ upasaṅkamitvā ime pañhe puccheyyan”ti.
