In the 44th year, Prince Danyal was appointed to the Dak’hin, and M.’A. was ordered to join the Prince, and besiege Ahmadnagar. The town, as is known from the histories, was taken after a siege of 4 months and 4 days. M.’A. then joined the Court, bringing with him Bahadur ibn i Ibrahim, who had been set up as Nizam Shah. Danyal was appointed governor of the newly conquered territory, which was called by Akbar Dandes, and married to Jani Begum, M.’A.’s daughter.
