(\_Author's note on his terminology.\_) \[Sidenote: Fol. 209b.\] Although \_barānghār\_, \_aūng qūl\_, \_aūng yān\_ and \_aūng\_ (right wing, right hand, right side and right) all have the same meaning, I have applied them in different senses in order to vary terms and mark distinctions. As, in the battle-array, the (Ar.) \_maimana\_ and \_maisara\_ \_i.e.\_ what people call (Turkī) \_barānghār\_ and \_jawānghār\_ (r. and l. wings) are not included in the (Ar.) \_qalb\_, \_i.e.\_ what people call (T.) \_ghūl\_ (centre), so it is in arraying the centre itself. Taking the array of the centre only, its (Ar.) \_yamīn\_ and \_yasār\_ (r. and l.) are called (by me) \_aūng qūl\_ and \_sūl qūl\_ (r. and l. hands). Again,—the (Ar.) \_khāṣa tābīn\_ (royal troop) in the centre has its \_yamīn\_ and \_yasār\_ which are called (by me) \_aūng yān\_ and \_sūl yān\_ (r. and l. sides, T. \_yān\_). Again,—in the \_khāṣa tābīn\_ there is the (T.) \_būī\_ (\_nīng\_) \_tīkīnī\_ (close circle); its \_yamīn\_ and \_yasār\_ are called \_sūng\_ and \_sūl\_. In the Turkī tongue they call one single thing a \_būī\_,\[1291\] but that is not the \_būī\_ meant here; what is meant here is close (\_yāqīn\_). The right wing (\_barānghār\_) was Mīrzā Khān (Wais), Sherīm T̤aghāī, Yārak T̤aghāī with his elder and younger brethren, Chilma \_Mughūl\_, Ayūb Beg, Muḥammad Beg, Ibrāhīm Beg, \`Alī Sayyid \_Mughūl\_ with his Mughūls, Sl. Qulī \_chuhra\_, Khudā-bakhsh and Abū'l-ḥasan with his elder and younger brethren.
