Sultan Taj-ud-Din, Yal-duz, was taken prisoner, and, in accordance with his \[Shams-ud-Din’s\] command, they brought Yal-duz to Dihli, and sent him \[fromthence\] to Buda’un, and there he was buried. Subsequently, in the year 614 H., Shams-ud-Din fought an engagement with Malik \[Sultan\] Nasir-ud-Din, Kabajah, and the latter was overthrown; and, when the calamities, consequent upon the appearance of Chingiz Khan, the Mughal fell upon Khurasan, in the year 618 H. Sultan Jalal-ud-Din, Khwarazm Shah, defeated by the army of infidels, retired in the direction of Hindustan.
